If I wasn't 100% straight looping around, I usually hold the loop as I snake the tie trough it and when I tighten the knot so it doesn't move. I always had a problem with remembering how to freaking tie them! When I relearned, I always then had the funky knot at the top. It was either too fat, or too skinny. Then I had the problem of how to keep it long enough cuz I am mega tall. All in all, very good. I never had a problem with tieing a tie.
