So I’m scrolling the daily Geeks! newsletter and compulsively clicked “Are you interested in meeting new people online?” Compelled enough to bother to view it on a real computer as opposed to on Blackberry browser.

Anyway anonymity is certainly key when on Omegle, or anything else when speaking to strangers. On some social network there aren’t too many “strangers” and on geeks I or twitter I know nobody. Anyway thats no one elses fault but point is pictures and profiles are a safer environment to communicate with strangers online as they aren’t as strange-er-esque.

This is NOT A GOOD IDEA. I tried two convos and they were both sexual in nature, in less than 10 seconds so, you can keep this. I wont be using it.

This is an interesting new service, which originated as a project by the teenage creator.

I feel this type of thing could potentially be dangerous, but there could be improvements to it. A way to kill time, if you will.

I don’t know if I could ever do this—I don’t even know what it means when you say to be careful because some of the conversations may be “blue” in nature.

I remember when the internet first came around…back in the Prodigy days….there were nothing but message boards and sometimes you had to wait days to get a reply from someone (if you were lucky to get the reply at all).
Then, when live chat rooms became available, everyone was so cool and it didn’t even seem like such a big deal if you met up with a group of people you had been chatting with online.
Today, in the world we live in now, there is no way in he** I would do that.
