Im 13 ive had a site for 2 years.. if your making a new site learn html before you do. css is also a must for good designs. php is then the next step, php is for logins, forms ect.

The hours of operation is definitely a top 5 for what physical store fronts should have on their website. Restaurants without complete menus along with prices is also annoying. Grocery stores should also list everything they have in stock so we can go to the store that has the product we want. So many sites, especially from local places, seem to have nothing on it of any use. It’s as if they feel they need a token web presence.

Good point about physical stores posting their hours of operation. I can’t tell you how annoying it is that so many don’t for whatever reason. And then restaurants that don’t post a menu or one with no detail. Another major annoyance are grocery stores that can’t list what they sell so I don’t waste my time going there. I wish they could all list what they have in stock so I don’t have to sit on the phone or waste my time looking for it at the store.

Really, the number of advertisements on a page usually isn’t an issue most of the time. As long as the content is good, and there aren’t any video ads or any of the annoying link ads in the content, then most visitors will block out the periphery.

The link ads are the worst. At least with the video ads there’s usually a way to turn them off.

And I made my first webpage back in 1992, about the time I signed up for my first email newsletter, Lockergnome.

I have had a site for about a week or two at http://www.vistadude123.ismywebsite.com
and I use ismywebsite.com for a server, it is free and I find very good. I just want to say you don’t always need to pay for a server, now you probably do to get a site address with out a little word or phrase which is the name of the server.

EX. t35.com, 110Mb.com, ismywebsite.com (all of which are actual servers.)

If you want to find a free server and don’t mind having T35 in your URL then go to http://www.free-webhosts.com and do a search to find a free server.

P.S. You don’t need expensive software to make a website you can get many free ones. Or do what I did and use what you got. You may be shocked what you can do with Microsoft Office programs if you know what you are doing. I used Microsoft Publisher for http://www.vistadude123.ismywebsite.com.

If you want transitions, use PowerPoint just make sure you adjust the settings so you don’t get a navigation bar like in M.S. PowerPoint its self.

And you probably will need a FTP client. I recommend FileZilla it is a good free ftp client for windows and works on Vista.

If you want a website builder just find
“Bluevoda” in google…It’s a drag and drop website builder… Just pictk a picture and drop it on your website page….
