Have you ever seen a USB device catch fire? I have, sort of. I was able to do it on the first try! It’s this cool new combo flash drive and lighter! The USB 8GB Flash Drive Lighter from the folks at ThinkGeek is available for about $50.00.

Electronics and fire have never been friends and you could even say they are essentially sworn enemies. But in the case of this USB flash drive they have decided to call a truce. Long standing differences have been put aside to create a product that is both practical and very unique.

This flash drive has an ample 8GB capacity and the lighter is refillable. The USB connector slides out of the bottom of the metal case, using a small slider lever located on the side of the lighter. The lighter has a polished chrome finish and an adjustable flame.

Features of this wonderful little gadget include:

  • Refillable lighter with built-in USB flash drive.
  • 8GB capacity
  • USB connector slides out of the lighter
  • Metal case
  • Adjustable flame
  • Includes USB cable

You just never know when you may need a lighter - even in an emergency. And, of course, no self-proclaimed Geek would ever leave home without a USB flash drive!

What’s this? Are you trying to promote the evils of smoking? As a life-long abstainer (smoking, that is!) and, bearing in mind the extremely well documented health problems caused by smoking, I really don’t think that this article should have been given house room - gadget or not. Are you serious?

No David, it’s even more sinister than that. Hhe’s promoting music piracy. Now both smoking and non-smoking concert-goers alike will have the ability to copy well over 2000 songs in all their digital glory as they salute their favorite band with hand held fire 2.0.

Seriously though. a $30 USB drive combined with a $2 lighter for $50? Give me three inches of Duct tape and I’ve just saved twenty bucks!

lol much like the plate in my head great review chis lol
