How do you pronounce “OS X”? Are you absolutely sure you’re saying it correctly? My friend Daniel made an excellent blog post putting this to rest once and for all.

There seems to be some confusion, with most people either saying “Oh Es Ex” or “Oh Es Ten“. OS X comes with a built-in program called say which literally “says” anything you tell it to. Simply open a terminal window and type in say “X”. The computer will respond X (as in “ex”). Now, type in say “OS X”, and it responds OS TEN.

There you have it… straight from the manufacturer themselves.
