How to Record Phone Calls

http://live.pirillo.com/ – Recording phone calls can be difficult if you don’t have the right tools. Phil wants to know if there’s a way to record phone calls from a land line, either hardware or software. He can’t afford another phone service at the moment.

The easiest thing you can do is to buy a multiphone recording controller. It acts as a go-between between the phone line and the computer. It acts a a receiver for whatever signal is coming over the land line. The biggest problem is that ther’s no leveling control, so if someone speaks too loudly, it’ll make them sound horrible.

You may want to consider free VoIP services, like Gizmo, Skype in conjunction with Pamela, or Google Talk.

Do you have any recommendations for Phil?

Phil and Chris another option is to try this service (https://record.viavisitar.com). This is a beta service my company just launched. We have a hosted CRM application with integrated telephony capabilities.
We though some people might find some of our telephony capabilities very useful by themselves(instead of tied to the CRM application).
This is the first example of those.
You put in your phone number and the number of the person you wish to call and your email address.
Then our system will call you, ask you to hold, call the other party and bridge the two calls together and record them.
After you hang up, we email you the recorded conversation.
The service is free for now while we are in beta.
Try it out and let us know what you think using the “Feedback” link on the web page.
