I bet I know what you’re thinking right now. You’re probably wondering why you’re watching this video, instead of pwning noobs on Quake right from within your browser. Oh – you didn’t know you could play Quake this way? Well now you do!

When you go to Quake Live, you’ll need to install a browser plugin. And then – play the game. Seriously, I’m not kidding. QUAKE LIVE is a new and multiplayer game experience that offers game players of all skill levels a totally free and easily accessible multiplayer game and community through a single website.

I played this prior to recording the video. I was able to pwn people – but only because I had it on the easiest settings. I’m just not a very good gamer, I know. But that’s ok, it’s still a lot of fun. There’s tons of different game settings, including changing your music and video options. It runs right from within your web browser… you don’t have to install an actual game. Because of this, it works on any operating system.

If you have an Internet connection and a web browser, you can play Quake online and get an excellent gaming experience.

In geek years, Quake Live is nothing new ;)

But yeah, it’s really very good and needs a lot more recognition, so I’m glad to see you’re promoting it.

old news :P

Sadly Quake Live only supports a few flavors of the Windows OS at the moment.

As noted when you go to play on a Mac running OS X and Firefox:

We’re sorry, but your web browser or operating system is not compatible with QUAKE LIVE. You must be using a combination of the following:

Windows XP
Windows Vista

Firefox 2.0 / 3.0
Internet Explorer 7 / 8

Support for Mac & Linux, along with alternative browsers is under development.

Hope that support comes soon, great game!

Thanks Chris!
