How to Make Text Art

Textorizer has to be one of the coolest pieces of software I’ve ever come across. Not only is it free and cross-platform… it’s just COOL. It is a program that allows you to make pictures formed with text.
It’s so simple to do. Open a picture of your own, and click “Add Text”. Then open a word document that you’ve saved on your computer – one that contains all of the words you’ve typed out that you want to appear on the picture. Click on “Textorize!” and watch. Your picture is re-rendered, using the words that you input!! How fricken awesome is that?
You can play around with the settings once it has Textorized. Change up the colors, saturation and more! Go ahead and download it – you know you’re dying to try it!

One of the IB art students did this manually to a picture of his own head. I bet if he had this it would have saved him a heap of time :P

There is a we/b app that will do a similar task with text fonts. It is on Floodgap’s Gopher Server at
