How to Fix Dead Pixels
http://live.pirillo.com/ – Dead pixels can be a pain. But, what are they and what can you do about them?
Dead pixels (or stuck pixels) are those little spots on an LCD monitor that may be stuck in one color (red, green, blue, black, or white). They’re a manufacturing defect, but under most circumstances they’re not a defect that’s covered under warranty. In fact, most manufacturers won’t exchange the product unless there are multiple dead pixels (sometimes as high as 10 or 15).
There are some suggestions and what you can do to fix these pixels. Many people recommend tapping on the stuck pixel, while others recommend pressing against the dead pixel with your thumb. We don’t recommend these methods as they can cause damage to the surrounding pixels.
The chat room recommended trying JScreenFix:
JScreenFix is a software solution that can fix stuck pixels, reduce screen burn-in and improve the quality of images displayed on a screen.
Ultimately, dead pixels are a manufacturing defect and the best way to fix these pixels is to cover them up with an image that covers up the defect.
What do you do about your dead pixels?

I used JScreenFix on a new Samsung monitor that had a stuck pixel. I may be wrong about this, but as I understand it, a dead pixel is something else much worse than a stuck pixel. A dead pixel is DOA has no color while a stuck pixel is stuck on one color. Mine was stuck on red. JScreenFix fixed it after running a few hours. After rebooting, the stuck pixel was back again so I ran JSF again. After doing this 4 or 5 times the stuck pixel seems to be unstuck for good now.

I have had a couple of stuck pixels on an old dell 15″ lcd that I got for free. I got rid of them by gently massaging them with my finger. I have not seen them since and it has been at least 2 months since I did that.

I’ve fixed a few LCD TVs/Monitors with both the tapping and the massaging method. Tapping. Care must be taken to use a the end of something rounded and plastic *avoid scratching. Tap with increasing pressure in short bursts and it seems to work on most monitors. Massaging can also work with stuck pixels, but it is a less accurate way of fixing. I’ve tried software jsscreen deluxe and to be honest, it’s been pretty hopeless at fixing the monitors I’ve tried with it.

I’ve tried all the software available so far on the internet. The best is UDPixel, because can locate and isolate the stuck pixel, and change rapidly colors. Works in 80% of cases, and has a “stuck/dead pixel find” function.
A dead pixel is dead, as basically it cannot be repaired in any way
