I think he uses Adobe FLASH as drawing tool which is "unusual" but as we can see - its working for him. Many other artists use Photoshop (pixel based editor) or Illustrator (vectro based editor), Freehand (vektor based), Corel painter (vektorbased) or Inkscape

<!--%kramer-ref-pre%-->[...] I have looked on the web for hours trying to figure out what to do. Since I can't find anything, I'll just post my troubles here. When I try to make shading (like shadows and stuff) on illustrator, it takes me a hell of a long time to do it the way I made up. Here's how I do it 1. Let's say I want to shade this circle I want one side bright, the other dark. 2. I draw a line where I want my shading to be. 3. I cut the figure on where the line meets the circle. 4. I join the edges and give it color. 5. I put it on top of my circle where I want it to be. I know this seems easy, but this was a simple circle. When I am doing the hair, body, ears, and all those things, I have to cut shapes, paste shapes, join endpoints, and all that shit. But look at the second video on here! he just draws a line and BAM! theres a new figure. It takes him 3 seconds where as it takes me 10 minutes, and it doesn't look nearly as good. Please help, or I won't be able to submit any fanart D: http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/02/23/how-to-draw-comics/ He just draws a line and BAM! theres a new figure.
Respect to Brad Fitzpatrick! Anyway he has PROFESSIONAL eduction in drawing and one can see it. I was amazed to observe in the video that in original phase - when he is drawing with pencil on paper - he is using so many movements for one line. Regarding video nr 2 and vectorization - he is using one-width lines only. Why not using variable-width lines?
