Just like people and dogs. cats have their own personalities. Some are aloof, some are cuddly, some are quiet, some are very vocal. Cats are very good at keeping themselves clean and groomed. Take a cat and a dog. If you made them each the size of a horse, people would probably still keep dogs as pets. But if cats were the size of horses, people would still be hiding in caves avoiding cats. PS - probably the most common and annoying tag at the end of a comment ever, but I really do miss TechTV I always recall the comment along the lines of….

I'll take the occasional playful scratch over being disemboweled. I know dogs "mean well" but they're always in your face, knocking things over, climbing on people, oozing their various liquids, and stinking up the joint. All the dogs I've known have been naughty and gross. I find cats clean and graceful and much more attractive. My cat has lived with humans all her life and is gracious and adorably vocal. I find I can communicate with her very effectively just by exchanging glances. She is a smart little person, though occasionally she is inexplicably "catty" and will do something nuts.
