How to Draw Cats
I’m not a cat guy (never have been, never will be). Dogs rule! Truthfully, I’m not sure why cats are adopted as pets; as a species, felines are not as domesticated as people believe they are (or want them to be). Cats are generally aloof and more persnickety than dogs.
Sure, cats are cute – but most of ‘em simply aren’t cuddly. I’ve had cats go from zero to VICIOUS in less than a second (with no provocation, mind you). I’m not saying that dogs are perfect, but they’re certainly more predictable – and generally friendlier for families. Cats don’t take too kindly to roughhousing, whereas dogs love to play without puncturing your skin.
Just ask Wicket or Pixie!

Dogs are slobbery and clumsy. I know dogs “mean well” but they’re always in your face, knocking things over, climbing on people, oozing their various liquids, and stinking up the joint. All the dogs I’ve known have been naughty and gross.
I find cats clean and graceful and much more attractive. My cat has lived with humans all her life and is gracious and adorably vocal. I find I can communicate with her very effectively just by exchanging glances. She is a smart little person, though occasionally she is inexplicably “catty” and will do something nuts. I’m guilty of the same, I’m sure.

I’m sure you know “cat people” can list all the reasons cats are superior to dogs, I’ll just go with one: I’ve never seen news reports of humans being attacked then eaten alive by housecats. I’ll take the occasional playful scratch over being disemboweled.

I always recall the comment along the lines of….
Take a cat and a dog.
If you made them each the size of a horse, people would probably still keep dogs as pets. But if cats were the size of horses, people would still be hiding in caves avoiding cats.
PS – probably the most common and annoying tag at the end of a comment ever, but I really do miss TechTV

I have lived with cats my whole life and found them to be very domesticated. Just like people and dogs. cats have their own personalities. Some are aloof, some are cuddly, some are quiet, some are very vocal. Cats are very good at keeping themselves clean and groomed. Plus, they don’t “bark” at every car or truck going past. My cats are very lovable.
