How to Double the Life of Your iPhone 3G Battery

Those of us with iPhone 3Gs certainly know the pain and frustration of having no battery left. I misplaced my iPhone earlier, so I tried calling it. It didn’t work, since the battery was dead. I wish I had a battery pack sitting on it all the time. In the past, I have reviewed various types of packs and batteries that can be used with the iPhone. Thankful, the Mophie Juice Pack is now available for the iPhone 3G.
Juice Pack 3G is specially designed for iPhone 3G and has passed the strict over-the-air performance tests by an Apple designated test lab. As a result, the Mophie Juice Pack 3G has been officially certified by Apple Inc. as a “Work with iPhone 3G” product!
Mophie Juice Pack 3G also uses Apple designated connector, which can only be ordered through Apple’s certified vendors. This ensures its 100% compatibility with your iPhone 3G.
The Juice Pack is a rechargeable lithium polymer battery in the form of a non-slip, soft grip case.
The Juice Pack works very well, that’s for sure. However, it doesn’t give me the Macro lens slide-over that I love so much on my current iPhone case. For me, it’s a matter of do I want the Macro lens, or to double the life of my battery. The Juice Pack will definitely get a lot of use, though. If you are looking to extend your battery – to double its current charge – the Mophie Juice Pack is just what the doctor ordered.

Well, you should consider the new Incase, which should meet your needs. It’s like a Mophie, but with a full-body case.

Hello,
How does this compare to the battery sled you reviewed from RichardSolo?

Nice Chris! I use the mophie all the time because i modded an iGriffin clear case to fit the top of it so its fully protected so mine is always charged and protected.

I like the idea of an extra battery pack. Since doubling the size doesnt bother me, i would love it!

One of these days, companies are going to have to make a battery that last longer. I have an Ipod touch and I get into the habit of plugging in my phone and ipod into the charger everynight since I use them very often. I don’t ever see myself gettting a battery like this even though it is an AMAZING IDEA. If I needed it, I would buy it.

I have the 1st generation iPhone and i can usually get through a day with the battery. I find that my phone drains whenever i’m doing any data intensive tasks using EGDE. I like this backup battery. LIke how it trys to keep the form of the iPhone unlike the Richard Solo iPhone Battery backup.

I really like the form factor of this case. While the Richard|Solo is great and all, it does add quite a lot to the bottom of the device. This seems like it does what it needs to do as unobtrusively as possible.

It sounds very promising, I wonder if this would also work on the iPod Touch, if so, I expect a lot of those people to get them, as well. Perhaps they might get 2 or 3 of them instead of just one.

You can also disable location services until you need them, that will help save battery life as well, as will turning 3G off if you are not in a 3G area.

Why did they make the iPhone so you could not change the batteries? The Samsung Instinct, which does not even 1/2 of what the iPhones does, and it comes with two batteries. It would make it a whole lot easier just to make the phone so you could change the battery when its dead instead of having to have a battery pack.

I used Mophie but the outter shell peels away over time quickly. I recently received my iPowerJacket 3G from Amazon.com and so far this thing has exceeded all of my expectations. The extra battery time is such a lifesaver and I’m quickly wondering how I lived without this before. No more disabling 3G or going into Airplane mode just to save my battery. Since it uses mini usb to charge I no longer find myself asking all my co workers to borrow their apple cables to charge my phone. It provides complete protection to my iPhone also as it is a nice designed leather case!
