I alwaus thought walking was for wimps but only really started losing pounds once I started walking one hour at 4 mph.
Doing this along with riding bike on a 800 calorie a day diet
did the trick. 40 lbs in 4 months and now down to 131 lbs on a 5'10" frame. Love wearing those Levi 510 super skinny's :)

The best way to limit food intake is to eat only when hunger strikes, and in doing so, by taking only small meals. If an individual is used to eating 3 slices of bread, cutting it down to 1, as a starter, would be a good idea.

I think the best tip is to be healthy, eat healthy meals - plan recipes using vegetables and fruit drink water - I watch cookery programs for inspiration. Exercise regularly and in varied ways to keep your interest going. I have found that if I stick to the same exercise too much I lose interest and my enthusiasm drops so change my exercises all the time and also it is good for you to use a range of muscles. I also take fat binders to help me achieve my natural weight loss goals

Counting calories means knowing how many calories are in what I eat AND drink. There's no reason to be an absolute teetotaler with the book, "Does My BUTT Look BIG In This BEER? Nutritional Values Of 2,000 Worldwide Beers," even including Weight Watchers POINTS.

Sometimes I need more than what a light beer offers. With this book, I can weed out what regular-brewed beers my diet regime can handle...and still lose weight.

I'm 62 and learned years ago that diets are bunk. To lose means you must maintain and its the maintenance where most people fall down. The bottom line is that you have to expend more calories than you take in but what you take in has to be beneficial to your body. I exercise 3 x weekly at the gym [freeweights; elliptical, stairmaster] + spin once a week; walk the hills near my home most every night; and I watch my diet like a hawk. No sodas [cans of sugar]. No recreational fats [corn chips, potato chips]. Limited red meat. Low sodium. No salt... use pepper instead. Small portions of everything but salad that includes large quantities of nuts. Use olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Proteins after exercising. Potassium before. Diet/exercise is a lifetime thing... not a fad. At 64 I'm 6'2, 175 with low body fat and killer abs & lightening reflexes.Wouldn't trade my life and regimen for that of anyone else.

If you have an iPhone. Get the weight bot app. It lets you track your weight and will graph your weight loss results. You can also password protect it so no one can see your info which is nice if your sensitive (like me) about how much you weight.

Intense workout routines can seem like a chore. There is no need for this in order to stay in shape. I find that the best thing is to find a sport that you actually enjoy playing, then you will feel inclined to play it regularly. For example, I love to play tennis and badminton, usually with friends and/or family members. Not only will you be enjoying yourself with what becomes a healthy, social hobby, but you will indeed be burning calories without even thinking about it. Fitness should be implemented into our lives in enjoyable ways!
