How to Boost WiFi Signal

http://live.pirillo.com/ - RF is a black art, WiFi doubly so. Just about everyone has WiFi or access to WiFi, and they all seem to have a dead zone where the WiFi isn't available and getting their signal to cover those dead zones isn't always as easy as repositioning the access point.

If you have a wireless router that supports an open source firmware, you could potentially boost the signal strength buy increasing the antenna strength. Of course, you'll need to flash the firmware every time you want to boost the signal.

In addition to increasing the antenna strength, you could also get a high-gain antenna which will pick up a stranger signal over a larger area than a normal antenna would pick up.
