How to Archive Facebook Data

Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed

What do you think about Facebook? When I first joined, I added anyone and everyone. I had to end up clearing out all of my friends, and changing over to a fan page. I post all kinds of links and updates there – often things that I find to be important or funny. I was looking for a way to archive my data there, to keep for all time. I didn’t want to exactly copy and paste into notepad. Thankfully, there’s a Firefox addon that will archive this all for me!

The ArchiveFacebook addon from the folks at Mozilla makes it exceedingly simple for you to forever archive all of your Facebook material. Archive your photos, messages, activity stream, friends list, notes, events and groups – right to your hard drive.

You never know… your grandchildren may one day care what you had for lunch today, or even wonder what kind of mood you were in. Now you’ll be able to show them, even if Facebook is no longer around (gasp at the thought!).

Actually ArchiveFacebook is not from Mozilla, it’s the work of Carlton Northern, a graduate student at Old Dominion Univ, as part of a research project.
