I prefer iTunes just because I don’t listen to music every day, but it is nice to have it there if you want it.

You talked about eMusic when it first came out years ago. Because I’m not a slave to new music, instead am interested in jazz and other interesting forms, I get all I can personally consume from emusic. Because I’m a music teacher, I’m forced to stay in the loop so wil use Amazon and iTunes. But as with many peeps here, the iTunes DRM is cumbersome.

Anymore, I’ve been using Amazon for my wonderful mpeg-layer-3 music. No DRMs = awesome. Although I just recently recently found djdownload.com has some obscure stuff (trance, etc), and all at 320kbps… haven’t actually tried it yet though. I refuse to use itunes for downloads. :)

Most of the time I get my music from iTunes. I know most of the stuff on there is DRMed but I don’t really feel locked down. I’m a apple guy, I use an iPhone and have an iPod, and those two are the primary ways I listen to my music. I guess iTunes works if you live in the apple world.

I have a music subscription with the Zune Marketplace.
I am not to sure if it is considered buying music.
Or i still buy CD’s from time to time if i really liked the album.

I usually buy my music off amazon since its in mp3 format or i go to the store and buy the album and rip it to my computer. It depends on how i pay for it if i buy it on line i use a credit card but if i buy the album in the store i usually use cash.

Normally, to acquire music online, I use my Napster to Go subscription. Sometimes if the songs I listen to are good enough, I purchase the MP3s of the songs through the Napster service, since they have the largest catalogue of music for purchase in DRM free formats for an online store. However, most of the music that I actually purchase (music that is not acquired through a subscription; music that does not have an expiry date), I usually just purchase at CD shops. I also sometimes download and listen to some independent music online for free.

I personally use iTunes it is the easiest and best way I think! It also is through Apple so you know it’ll be good! I spent about $250 last month though is the problem! Darn Apps Store!
