Home Again
Hey! Life is about to return to “normal” – but not before I catch up on 1,500 messages in my Inbox. Quips and titles will return to the photoblog, regular entries will ensue, and my thoughts about this year's convention will pop up now and again as I remember all the cool things about it. By the way, we're doing Gnomedex again in 2004 – and our possible partner is already targeting a weekend in late September. Mark your calendars!

I enjoyed Gnomedex with a passion (even if gnome-girl couldn't see through my stoic expressions), so thanks for putting it on. “The Meat” will be back next year for sure!

September? That's bad, very bad. School is in then, and I can't miss class to drive over. I suppose it would be senior year, but I don't want to start a reputation that I don't go to class.
And my housemate concurs with, “What!?! SOB no.” He won one of the VIA boards.

I don't care when it is. I'm there!
I can't believe I was nervous about going. I would STRONGLY encourage anyone to do whatever they have to to get there next year.

I to am not to much of a fan of September. I can take time off of school, but I can't say I would want to.
As for your video, you can get an AVI version for those not using windows at http://www.sperari.com/gnomedex.penthouse.wmv.avi The audio is a bit off though.
As for the penthouse, according to my girlfriend (a former Mariott Employee), the penthouse can be split into two. You can get the smaller half for about $350 a night, the larger part for about $650, or the whole thing for a mere $1200 or so. That is, she said until it's remodeled. However, I just showed her the video, and it's been remodeled since she toured it. Once long long ago. she was told it would be around $3000 a night after it's remodeled, but I don't know how off her prices are. Nice place to say the least.
