Headache
On Wednesday morning, Ponzi and I flew to Mountain View (San Jose) for a private forum. At that point, the headache was non-existent. After a quick sleep, we were back on a jet plane flying back to Seattle (yesterday). When we landed, the headache started to rear its ugly… head? I thought a tiny bit of caffeine would have made it not so achy – but that didn't work, apparently. After a few hours of rudimentary shuffling upon returning home, we did last night's show (which was quite FUN and INTERESTING, even if slightly off the beaten path). About two hours into the interview, the headache took over my entire body. Ya know, the kind where you get sick to your stomach, the chills, etc.? The very second after the show ended, I excused myself and went to bed. That sent the headache packin'.
Headaches suck, but I don't really like taking aspirin or any other kind of drug. Even though I wasn't planning on operating any heavy machinery, I still decided to forego the impending pill solution. Travel to California seems to do knock me for a loop every once in a while – the ups and downs, the change in cabin pressure, the lack of Pauly Shore movies as the in-flight entertainment. Guess I really need to stock up on Vitamin Water.

If you had blurred vision, followed by a throbbing, pounding pain on one side of your head and nausea, you probably had a migraine. You should get checked out by a doctor.

Have you ever looked into Accupressure? It's like Accupuncture, but no needles and you can do it to yourself.

Sounds like caffeine withdrawl. I get these same symptoms when I forget to consume it. Drinking caffeine after the symptoms start doesn't work – too late. It really is debilitating. I drink half-caf now, which seems to work.

(Excerpted from the item on macular degeneration) As far as your headaches go…try this: Feel for the indentations just below the bone and to the right and left of where your spinal column meets your skull. (The “bumps” near the base of your neck) Place your thumbs in the indentations (simultaneously if possible) and apply steady, strong, pressure and hold for at least 20 seconds. Then pull your thumbs away, quickly releasing the pressure. Within a few minutes, you may notice that your headache has eased considerably, or has even disappeared entirely.
