The other half thinks that 27" TV is "huge" but I've seen plasma HDTVs at the high end brick & mortar place where we bought our high-end music system.
Once you've got HDTV, you'll never go back.

HDTV! Good for you. I'll have to be widowed before I can get HDTV. We have a Samsung DLP HDTV, and absolutely love it. The thing is, watching INHD and INHD2 is nice on occassion, but it gets old quick. Luckily, Comcast provides a high definition dual-tuner DVR. I find that this more than meets my HD needs, especially when it isn't rerun season. Shows like Lost, King of Queens, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brian, Saturday Night Live (HD next season), heck - even the news, all look astounding. Tsk tsk, Chris. You should have checked with your resident gadget guy before the purchase ;)

Hold up, let's be serious for a second – do you watch TV to look at pretty colors, or do you watch it because of the content? Samsung's new 1080p DLPs are going to be available as soon as next week with 10,000:1 contrast ratios. Finally a display that has it all!

I decided to hold out for a couple weeks.<br

Can somebody confirm that? Their commercials are so random.
I can't afford to leave Comcast because my internet bill would go up to 60something dollars if I drop the TV service with them =( and DSL is simply not an option in my area. How convenient eh?

Doesn't DirecTV offer 100% HD? or was it Digital?<br

Do I just have eagle eyes, or is anybody else seeing it?

I'm still soft on HDTV because I think they spec'd the bitrate too low, and the macroblock artifacts stick out like a sore thumb to my eyes (on fast moving content).
