Cost was much less since I cashed in my frequent stay points in Hilton (if you get their charge card you are automatically in the VIP club where offers like this are common) and used frequent flyer miles for one of our tickets. Also, shop around on line for rental cars, we had 1 for 6 days for undre $200 total.The big island is much less a tourist trap (although you can find the shops if you want) and visiting a coffee plantation is worth the trip up the mountain. Thunder Mountain coffee is the place I went to (organically grown) and they offer online discounts if you sign up while your there.
