I am currently looking to get the HTC Hero (sprint) in december, it is said to be one of the most capable android devices out, along with the Motorola Droid.

The reason I am getting an android device? Because it is the future in my opinion, as we have learned from the past, most google products explode into the market one or two years after release. Also as a developer of applications, the android OS seems easy to make apps for, The prepackaged emulator takes the guess work out of device-program compatibility

My favorite feature about android is the ability to replace core apps with the ones -you- want to use, so lets say you didnt like the email app, you can download a new one and tell the system to use it instead of the deafult

I couldn't try the emulator because whenever I run the SDK executable jar file, it says "Failed to load Main-Class manifest attributes." Is there a way I can fix this?

I don't think Google would've created something like this if Apple, Samsung, LG, and all the other brands hadn't done it first. I think the market flows down one river, and no one ever branches out. They stay in the same current. They're now in the current about touch interface mobile phones.

Seems really interesting, I think iPhone's OS is still better tough.

It would be nice to see android working together with cocoa touch.. I don't know, I don't like the idea of "google vs apple" I just love both of them.
