I just got my widsom teeth out 5 days ago, at age 39.

They had come in very late, and my dentist and I waited a little bit because the root of one of them was very tangled up in a major nerve in my jaw. It was easy to see on the x-ray.

By waiting, I might have avoided some permanent facial numbness from nerve damage.

So, while one heals faster when one is young, you should stick with your dentist’s or oral surgeon’s advice about when to have it done.

I’m 27 and I just got 2 of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday – upper and lower, same side, both erupted. I had local anaesthesia and it actually took longer for the dentist to numb me up (15 mins) than it did to extract the teeth (3-5 mins each tooth)! During the procedure, I felt no pain..just pressure..it felt like she was taking a small shovel and basically shoveling out the tooth. Almost like a gum massage, hehe.
Afterwards and since then I have been taking ibuprofen for the pain, which is minimal and dull and hardly even noticeable now, a day later. The swelling was brief and lasted for only 4 hrs or so immiediately after the extraction…I iced it every 15-20 mins, as instructed. I applied gauze to the holes once ever hour, for the first 4 hrs or so, until bleeding began to subside. I’ve been eating soft and liquid foods (especially liking the protein shakes and applesauce), drinking lots of water and OJ, and today have been rinsing with warm salt water after every meal and in between times, too. Seems to all be healing great so far. Now, here’s hoping for no dry socket and I will be aok :)

I just got four of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday morning. so far so good, the pain is very minimal thanks to the help of tylenol tres. i do have a bit of jaw pain, but i was under sedation so i’m thinking it’s because of the extra freezing they put in my gums. the swelling went away within 4 hours, with the help of ice packs.. though i only used one and it worked really well. i’m starvin marvin though, i’ve only had a cup of soup and icecream to eat hahah. also, luckily all of my 4 wisdom teeth were up and ready to come out therefore i ihave no stitches, just “holes” .. anyways good luck guys.

I got mine out last thursday(today is tuesday) so what, 6 days ago? Idk, overall the surgery and everything was fine. I don’t remember anything and so I didn’t have to force down any pills they gave me a liquid loratab which was nice. But now, the stitches are coming out and are bleeding. Idk why? Any ideas?

I’m getting my wisdom teeth pulled soon, and I’m freaking out. I hope I’m as lucky as the few on here who said it didn’t hurt for them, because honestly I couldn’t be more scared.

I have all my wisdoms and surprisingly my dentist said my mouth is large enough for them. so I have all 32 teeth. I am only 15.

I still have my wisdom teeth. I should have them removed. Right now, they’re not rotting or anything, but they are pushing my other teeth forward.

I haven’t had my wisdom teeth out yet. Though, I think I’m really close to probably needing to get them pulled.
