Halo 2 in 32-Bit or 64-Bit Vista?

http://live.pirillo.com/ – Matt is a Halo2 fanatic. He is currently running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista. He’s wondering if the game will run better if he installs the 64-bit version.
Well Matt, it depends on whether the game itself is coded to run in 64-bit systems. If it was designed to run on a 32-bit system, it may not work at all. Since your processor is an AMD 64-bit, you definitely can install the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. However, before you totally reformat and upgrade, I recommend setting up a partition on your hard drive. Install the 64-bit version there, and try running the game on it. A few of our chatters say it will indeed work. By running it on a partition, you can test for yourself what it will do on your setup.

chances are that it’ll run on a 64-bit OS.
but isn’t he asking if it’ll run better?
and the most likely answer is NO. since the game is written in 32bit it wont take advantage of the additional speed the 64 bit intruction set will give it. AND it has to go through that WOW32 (this makes it possible for 32bit apps to run on Vista64) process in Vista…
so even if it runs, changes are it wont run better.

32 bit software is emulated on 64 bit OS so the answer is no, no performance changes on halo 2, unless they actualy make a 64 bit version of halo 2
