Google to Google, Dust to Dust

Does anybody out there use Google’s Hello? Hello!? Yeah, Hello – the photo-sharing IM service that integrates seamlessly with Picasa and Google’s Blogger service. Here’s the problem I have with Hello: none of my friends use it. My real question is: why isn’t Picasa pushing people to use Google Talk, instead – and why isn’t Google Talk incorporating Hello technology? Argh.

I finally uninstalled Hello after it lying unused for over a year. I still have my fingers crossed for a grand re-launch of Blogger with all the features we Wordpress users take for granted plus full integration with Picasa + WebAlbums + Blog Search + Google Video + Google Pages + Google Mobile and and and and and and.

I think someone in Google needs to ressurect that old 80’s phrase “synergy”. It actually makes sense in their case.

I’m with you in that the biggest problem with Hello is that my friends are not on the service. The photo sharing capabilities are great… and if incorporated into GTalk, they would have made GTalk a substantial improvement over the other IM options…
