Google Responds to Splog Problem!
An hour ago, I received a message from a Google staffer by the name of Cédric:
Just wanted to let you know I brought up your post internally. We'll be doing something about it shortly. Sorry for the trouble it caused you and thanks for bringing it up!
Thanks, Cédric, for paying attention and addressing the situation as quickly as you did. I don't think anybody wants Blogspot to go away – we just don't want it to be a honeypot anymore. I'll be watching closely to see (a) what they decide to do and (b) if it has an immediate impact. I'm also going to see if I can find someone (Jason Shellen?) to pop onto Thursday's live show to talk about it.

I've had a blogspot account, for some time. It's only been in the past week that i've had any comment spam. So it has just recently become a problem and an annoyance for me since i get updated by email everytime someone or “bot” commented.
