Good Or Bad?

You can always try it as an occassional entry to see how people respond, or for those random thoughts. And expand in the written form. I liked it. It is great for making a point or comment. And the written for an explaination, or how-to

Sounds different than TV… but its cool!

I think you should blog however, whenever, wherever and on whatever your geeky little heart desires, sir.

Do a bit of both. Use text for long entries, or when you have time. Audio when you only have a short amount of time, and have an idea to get out.

My personal opinion, is basicially 99% No.
I just want hard core blogging, text. Soon enough, everyone will be doing it, and it will probably pass to be a fad. All blogs will begin to do it, and then it gets boring. I won't ever do that. Don't you think it would be more work to do a voice blog, then just typing it up? And you won't have much choice to edit.

Sure man, go for it. I have seen it been done before. Tom Green used to have a thing on his site called “Tom Talks” and he would call in and say what he was doing and he would do the usual Tom Green stuff. It was great, give it a try!

I say try it, I've never seen it done before. The only problem that you might have is people reading your blog who aren't on broadband wouldn't like it if it went on for a long time, but that mp3 was only 87 KB (yes, I saved it, have no idea why).
When I heard it, I realized that I've never heard your voice outside of TV. It sounded different. :) cool. Go for it.

Hmm… Only disadvantage I see is not being able to search or skim through entries- especially if they are lenghty audio files.

Some say it would not be conventional but, your web log is just that: It belongs to you! Do whatever you wish. “And now live on tape from the 21 Hayes.”
I believe that some of the best thoughts come on a spur of the moment, a digital recorder with you at all times gets your thoughts then and not when you have time to remember them and then type and upload them.

Well, nobody loves audio more than I…but I don't think I'd get as many of your thoughts and insights if I had to listen. Just no way to scan.
Any way you could dictate your thoughts and drop the audio into one of the voice-to-text apps? I know they're not perfect yet but…
Stick with text.

I say go for it. I'm not much of an “audio” person when it comes to websites. I normally shy away from such, but I'm guessing I'll keep coming back here. :) I suppose someday blogs could progress on to video blogs. :) I'd love to see how this turns out!

I think it is a good idea. You could always try it out for a few weeks and see how it works out.

Chirs… you're going to have to get 1-888-PIR-ILLO…then we can check your updates from a payphone in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise, a little mix of both might bring some spice to the world!

It's your blog, if this catches on then the cheap unexpandable 32 meg MP3 player I have can get some use.

It could be called an AudBlog! I really think it's worth trying. I'm surprised nobody else has come up with this yet.
When I find things out, I try audio/video first. If no luck there, I move to the text. I would rather listen then read. ;-)

Why not do both, Audio sometimes, Text the rest of the time. ya know, no time audio, Got a few minutes text. Just a thought.

Hmmmmm… I am purposely not looking at the other comments until I finish my own,.. so that I dont get swayed here. ;) I think I like it. I do like to read tho.. and see pics.. cant see pics thru audio. How about a mix of things? Doesnt have to be an all or nothing thing. Some days, when you are up to it, you could type it and post pics if you have. Other days, just a link to an mp3 blog. :) A hodge-podge of different ways to express yourself. Maybe some days JUST a pic… a picture is worth a thousand words…

I think its cool, but if you combined it with voice recognition software so it types it up for you, that'd be keen.

Do wav -> text !! So you speak, and it makes a text entry, perhaps with a link to the audio if you choose to listen.

Only prob with audio is editing yourself! Your thoughts are racing, your tongue is draggin' you slur or sputter! Oh, well, maybe that thrills some people! You seem to be able to articulate your thoughts pretty well Chris. Use it in the halls when a thought hits you, type us a line when you have more time.
