While I was in a meeting with a client, our receptionist stood at my doorway
looking perplexed. She decided not to bother me, and the meeting lasted for
a few hours. By the time it was over, she explained how your users pounded
on our lame old server. ColdFusion service was skyrocketing above normal
levels on the box which dragged it to a crawl. We got “Good Samaritan” phone
calls from clients letting us know that our site was acting like it was
being hosted on a 14400 baud modem. After about one hour, the pounding eased
off and the traffic was steady enough for our clunky machine to better
balance the load, and all the while I hadn't a clue it was going on. So, thanks so much for the mention, and thanks for inspiring me to get off my
lazy ass and move my site to a more adequate server. And if your advertisers
