Gnomedex Keynote Speaker
I think I'm in love with a new drink. It's something called Teeccino, a product recommended by a Gnomie when I first started this blog. Gretchen and I stopped arguing long enough to order a sample pack. I was extremely skeptical – down to the moment I took my first sip. It was a bit bitter at first, but when I added a bit of cream, it was relatively delightful. The Hazelnut blend gets a “one tongue up” from me. I'll brew a mocha blend in my Bodum Santos for dinner. Perhaps I can get these guys to come to Gnomedex?
By the way, I've confirmed the keynote presenter for our event: Leo Laporte. I first asked him to do it upon returning from last year's geekathon. Even then, he was ready to rock and roll. Today, I gave him a few more details and he responded with a very enthusiastic YES. This means you should get signed up as soon as we launch the pre-registration process. Hopefully, that'll happen within the next couple of weeks. For those of you who don't know Leo, he's a classic geek with a dynamic personality (both on and off screen); he's toyed with just about every operating system ever invented; he leads the charge on TechTV's hottest tech show, The Screen Savers; he's the guy who used to voice Dev Null on MSNBC's The Site; he's someone you're going to meet face to face come August. Stay tuned.

ok, I will abandon my kids and husband to be there. Or maybe I will bring them along\. They like you and Leo, too. One thing I should share is that my kids have decided that (after a brief period of getting used to your coffee-induced hyperactivity) you are “the man” when it comes to sharing stuff on your show that matters to them (they are 10 and 12). they actually change the channel to TechTV when it is time for your show to start (they also do this for TSS). Am I brainwashing my munchkins? they are geeks at heart; that is what matters.

GET! OUT! I had no idea he was Dev Null's voice — I loved that show! And I'm a huge Screen Savers devotee now…and that's not just because my husband not-so-secretly lusts after Megan either… ;-)

I know this Gnomie will be there this year. Hell I'll pay for the plane ticket myself. Great choice for a KN speaker. I might even buy a digital camera for the event.
