Gnomedex Ideas
From my perspective, the best part of the original Gnomedex was in learning about things that I can use day-to-day. Radio UserLand and Windows XP by Robert (Scoble) were the best parts for me. Robert also showed the Google search bar, which has been a tremendous time saver. I also really liked the discussion about setting up the Lincoln, Nebraska wireless network, partuclarly the talk about his experience with different types and brands of equipment. I'm not likely to set up a wireless network in my town any time soon, but the discussion was interesting anyway.
I suggest bringing in people who can teach us things. Cool tools to make things easier or quicker and some out-there stuff that makes us
think and stretch. Perhaps the Do-It-Yourself Web services type of stuff that Dave Winer and the folks at Radio are doing might qualify there, though I'm still struggling to comprehend all that this might become. I'm glad to hear Gnomedex will be back in Des Moines and I plan on attending.

I must have neglected to mention ActiveWords in my email to Chris, but it was another of the incredible utilities I learned about at GnomeDex. I'm looking forward to this year's conference.
