Than i upgraded to the 30 day trial of home premium and my computer's speed increased a lot. Than after that expired I tried windows vista ultimate. Its slower than premium but not quite as slow as basic. I would have to say if i were to decide between the 3 I would much rather have premium. You can go back to xp but why? Eventually all computers with windows will be vista and xp will be out the door. So basically i suggest home premium i liked it!! I had vista home basic and my laptop was slow.
