Geek Meetup in Des Moines

As revealed at the bottom of tonight's report, I'm planning on being at Being There tomorrow at 2pm (that's in Altoona next to the grain elevator). We believe that Dad will be discharged from the hospital in the morning, so by that time in the afternoon – we should be good to go. You don't like coffee? Come for conversation. You don't like conversation? Come for the coffee. In al honesty, I'm expecting to be the only one there. If one other person shows up, I'll be surprised. Last minute get-togethers seldom work. I'll give the coffee a half cup try, too (provided they have real cream on hand). I've yet to have a truly good Iowa cup of coffee. Just had half a cup at Caffe Vita at the edge of Queen Anne in Seattle the other day, and that was certainly wonderful (like, Peet's level of wonderful). I'm not going back to drinking coffee on a regular basis, mind you – but a social drink every once in a while isn't so bad. Even if the coffee isn't so hot, we'll have free WiFi and new friends to get us through.
