From Webzine to Windows Vista
At the tail end of the 1990’s Webzine was the conference for a burgeoning group of Web publishers with a strong DIY ethic. In 2005, Webzine returns to the scene with the renewed energy combining blogging, podcasting and video blogging into a catchall conference for creative individuals who want to trade secrets in the same DIY ethos of the original series of gatherings. We talked with Eddie Codel, one of Webzine’s organizers, about what to expect at this year’s event when it goes live September 24 and 25 in San Francisco. I know I’ll be there with DV cam and microphone in hand.
Later in this segment of the show, the third Jake of the evening called in to convince Chris of Google’s plot to crush IE through the release of a browser. You can follow along on your lucky-number scorecard to see how that turns out. What is the one feature Chris would like to see to improve his Windows experience? Find out in the continuing saga of Windows Vista beta. And the segment closes with the opening discussion from Carlos of PlanetAMD64.com talking about his takeaways as a PDC 2005 armchair quarterback. Prepare to be Vistafied.
