For The Hearing Impaired

If you haven't noticed yet, TechTV programming is now closed captioned for the
hearing impaired. This is a notable milestone in our maturing process as a
channel. Program captioning began last Monday, but there were many weeks of work
to prepare for what was a flawless launch of this important service to our
viewing community.

Yay for Meryl!

Wa-hooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Someone start taping it for me while I go fight with the cable company.

Chris, Even CFH and TSS are closed captioned???? That would be interesting. I guess ill check that out tonight.
:p

CC is a godsend! While Im not hearing impaired, its nice because while Im talking with clients or doing other work, I can have the TV on mute, and the CC will be on, so Ill still know what the programs are saying. Very convenient option for us multi-tastkers!!:)

that means i can watch techTV downstairs when i'm drinkin' and not miss a thing!
or it would if the local cable company carried techTV. grrrrrr.

Cheri - you're absolutely right! I've been to a beauty salon that has the TV on… well, like you can hear it over the blow dryers and all the gossip. Its captions were turned on. Same goes for a gym. It's great to see the benefits of captions go beyond the hearing impaired.
- still doing dance of joy -

sch-weet! Now if Comcast would get with the program here in Little Rock … I miss seeing CFH and TSS on the tube!

Gnome, My question is this:
Is it like “News for the hard of hearing” like they did on SNL back in the 70's…where they had garrett morris in a caption window screaming out the news stories?? man, id pay to see that kind of Un-PC, shock value on television :)
