For The Hearing Impaired
If you haven't noticed yet, TechTV programming is now closed captioned for the
hearing impaired. This is a notable milestone in our maturing process as a
channel. Program captioning began last Monday, but there were many weeks of work
to prepare for what was a flawless launch of this important service to our
viewing community.
Optimize 3.0 is an excellent tool to have in your arsenal. Use it to clean up your computer, free up space by removing junk files, and to generally speed up your computer. You spend a lot of time using your machine... don't you want it to run at its optimum speed and efficiency?

CC is a godsend! While Im not hearing impaired, its nice because while Im talking with clients or doing other work, I can have the TV on mute, and the CC will be on, so Ill still know what the programs are saying. Very convenient option for us multi-tastkers!!:)

Cheri – you're absolutely right! I've been to a beauty salon that has the TV on… well, like you can hear it over the blow dryers and all the gossip. Its captions were turned on. Same goes for a gym. It's great to see the benefits of captions go beyond the hearing impaired.

Gnome, My question is this:
Is it like “News for the hard of hearing” like they did on SNL back in the 70's…where they had garrett morris in a caption window screaming out the news stories?? man, id pay to see that kind of Un-PC, shock value on television :)
