Many of the best lawyers are not terribly tech savy or willing to spend their time writing a blog. The right lawyer is not always easy to find because the best lawyers don't need to advertise much. Lawyer referral services do give you the name of the next lawyer off of their paid list and some lawyer referral services screen which attorneys get on which list for experience levels.The comment about only using attorneys rated BV or better on martindale bothers me because that rating is just a popularity contest between lawyers. I had my share from unexpected problems like divorce and getting wills and trusts made. If a lawyer doesn't perform, drop them immediately, but you'll be out some money.Best thing is use a referral service. Or join a legal service insurance pool. I just joined one and used it. They are pretty good and cheap!!! Service that would have cost at least $5,000 to $10,000 costs only $15 a month. Beware of lawyers. Yellow Pages is one of several sources you can use. But without recommendations, or in a specialty you are not familar with, trusting a blog, please. I would trust the print Yellow Pages more. At least there yo can see how the lawyer positions themselves, what informaiton they provide, what they consider important in comparison to others beforing making that first call. A blog? You have no idea who is providing what comments, what the bloger has allowed/not posted, and whether they are just good at playing with technology... I disagree. Webtwo0 (and the people in it) are really transforming the legal arena in so many ways. The lawyers who carry on as if nothing has changed and continue to ignore this shift in the way people (and companies) purchase their legal needs are the the same lawyers who are losing cases.
