I don't think there is a best Ergonomic Office Chair. There are definitely some bad ones out there, as long as the chair suits you and eases - prevents the torment of a painful back that's the best one for you,
Don't be fooled that the best looking has the best functions, also the most expensive isn't always the best.

uh i was actually wondering where i could get one or grahl's chairs. i am currently at their website but it seems to be based in germany/europe. do i have to order it thru the website in germany? does anyone know of a vendor that sells it here in the US? or can you recommend another chair that is similar to the one that chris now has. im looking for a chair of quality but not too too expensive.

I agree with John that the Humanscale Freedom chair is the best ergonomic chair out there right now. I bought mine from mcergo.com for a great price.

In response to the question: "What chair do you use?" -- for my money, the Freedom Chair -- so comfortable I often sit in it even when I am not computing!

Incidentally, this really IS a big issue -- I have been computing since the day of 8088 steam-powered PCs, before RSI's were well-known, and I have severe permanent and painful damage to my left shoulder from long hours computing in a chair not designed for the purpose.

actually I read recently that studies show a better position for your back and spine is resting at an angle, slightly slouched back. Look it up I may be wrong.
