The Mbutu pygmies of central Africa (whom you can read about in Colin Turnbull&#039;s seminal work, The Forest People) are semi-nomadic, moving village location approximately ever 20 years. (They do this because the soil isn&#039;t the best, and only proves to be arable for about two decades before needing serious fallow time.)
I&#039;ll bet you didn&#039;t know...
You can track previous locations of Mbutu villages by seeking vast thickets of marijuana in the forest. Y&#039;see, they pick the seeds out before smoking it, but simply toss them over their shoulders.
