eBay Auction for Sale

Sean told me about AuctionAds the other day – it’s yet another banner network that aims to help those of us who create content on the Web. I’m glad I didn’t sign up for it right away (as there was apparently an error that caused many user clicks to go miscounted). I haven’t had much luck with anything other than AdSense – or straight ol’ CPM. Even Chitika started strong and then fell extremely short not long thereafter. Eurekster is kinda broken for me, BlogAds isn’t delivering advertisers consistently, and FeedBurner should be doing more to attract higher CPMs.

Still, Sean said that he’s made more with AuctionAds than he has with AdSense in the average week:

When your site’s visitors click on an Auction Ad listing and take an action on eBay you earn cash. Actions are defined as a Winning Bid, a Buy-it-Now or a confirmed user registration. AuctionAds is committed to paying out a minimum of 100% of eBay commission revenue. See eBay’s affiliate program for details on the payout.

I can tell you that RSSAuction has been nice passive income for me, so I’d be willing to try something else with eBay / auction-centric advertising. Anybody else have any experience with AuctionAds so far – good or bad?

Forget Ads, Chris. You need to be knocking out your own “Soft Plush
Luxury Robes” in your mailouts. Why do you think Kim Komando is always smiling?

I ran Auction Ads for about a month. They made my site look like crap and generated a whopping 20 cents. I stick with Text-Link-Ads and Google Adsense. Both are reliable sources of income (although not a livable income, but enough to pay my hosting and ISP bills).

Chris-

If you want to actually learn what AuctionAds is I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Its far from “another banner network”. Also eBay US had issues tracking clicks (not AuctionAds) and this was rectified and all users credited + bonus within days.

Last week problogger did a write up on aucitonads and also had a 5$ jumpstart deal. I signed up and started making more then I was with adsense and have been very happy with it.

(also you should probably disclose the fact you own rssauctions and they also were not tracking clicks)

From what I can tell so far auctionads suck… have made a whopping 30 cents in over a month.

Couldn’t be happier with them. They turned what was basicaly wasted ad space into money almost instantly. $503 made on 6,300 clicks. Not a great CPM at this point because I haven’t done anything more than throw them into my general header banner rotation. I get about a 1% clickthru rate currently.

There is the dead spots of $0 in my stats during the tracking problem, but the money was paid out by the first of the next month.

I am $4 richer than I ever was before.

What Do You Think?
