DVI vs VGA

First, don't bother trying to convert S-Video to VGA: it's just not going to be a good experience for you.
If you need to convert DVI to VGA, just pick up a DVI-to-VGA adapter. They're generally pretty cheap - so cheap that most video cards come with a free adapter.
What's the difference between DVI and VGA? DVI is a digital connection, whereas VGA is an analog signal, so you get a slightly higher quality signal with DVI than with VGA.
Generally, you'll find DVI connections on LCD monitors as they handle the video signal in pure digital form, while CRT monitors will use VGA because the video signal remains analog through the entire monitor.

How can I subscribe to mp3 feed in Juice. Right now I’m downloading mp4’s and converting them to mp3. What line do I have to insert in subscription in Juice to receive mp3s? Thanks for good podcast.

How do you go the other way? I want to use a spare notebook computer to stream video to my TV. The TV will accept either S-video or component video. Is there a way to convert the “display monitor out” signal on the notebook computer to a video format that my TV will accept?

I have a Gateway 17 inch HD Display with both DVI and VGA connectors. My Gateway GT4024 XP multimedia came with a VGA adapter to the monitor. If I get a DVI cable, will I have to do anything other than plug it in in place of the VGA cable? If it gives a clearer image, and I run HD DVDs on my multi-drive, I want the best picture I can get.

I have a Gateway multimedia PC with a DVI output (that came with a DVI to VGA converter). It also has an HDMI out. When pluging the HDMI out into my 50inch Pioneer plasma TV, the computer (Windows Vista) only recognizes 30 Hertz at 1080/768 resolution. The Pioneer also has a PC VGA input, but when I plug the DVI with VGA adapter into the VGA input on the same TV, it offers 75 Hertz rather than the HDMI’s 30 Hertz at the 1080 resolution. I thought that using the digital signal rather than the analog would result in a clearer picture. Is there something I’m missing, or will the digital signal only support up to 30 Hertz?

I recently bought a sony trinitron 24 inch CRT cinema display. hoping to get the promised 2304×1440 resolution. but sadly it wont work, the video card causes me to scroll around everywhere, while the monitor is perfectly able to display it. so i thought it was the vid cards output. so i got out the DVI to VGA adapter. and now the monitor says its working, but not receiving a signal. So I googled the problem, and i was directed to this video.
