Want to know how to burn a movie that is stored on your hard drive in AVI format so that you can watch it on a standard DVD player?This is an important question for most of us with digital camcorders. You can simply burn them to CD or DVD to share with friends and family who have computers, but if you want to send a movie to grandma or someone who doesn’t have a computer, you are stuck. With the right DVD Burner software, making a DVD for them is not too difficult.

I really like the Cyberlink PowerProducer and Power Director programs however they take hours to organize and burn DVD’s. Nero works much faster but on fast moving objects the image becomes distorted and somewhat pixelly.

i have tried using Nero and Ashampoo to write dvd video disk. It took hours to write a 30 minute program. My dvd recorder/player hooked up to my tv can write them on the fly. Whats the deal?

I use CDBurnerXP Pro 3, easy to use, very reliable burning both CDs and DVDs of any type and, best of all, completly free.

The best burning (& copying) DVD software is DVD Fab Platnium.

Oh, and do you know of a good local source I can contact to discuss/email regarding dual monitors. vido cards, etc. ?

I’ve been using ImgBurn (imgburn.com). It’s robust, many tweaking features, updated regularly (when needed) and–best of all–FREE!

Lot’s of info, tutorials on reading and burning at afterdawn.com, a very rich resource.
