Try the Archos MP3 Studio Jukebox 6000. It holds 6 GB worth, it's light, and it also functions a as USB hard drive. If you hurry, Best Buy has one for $179 after rebate. Otherwise they're around $200. I love mine. Backlit LCD, rechargable built-in battery, etc, etc. Again, I love mine. :)

try SONY'S latest NET MD. longplay function (many songs on one MD…about 320min recording allowance), long batt life (110 hours continuous playback on AA batt + rechargeable batt), USB (quick transfer) + charger, lightweight (only 87gms), G-protection (so you can work out!), backlit LCD stick controller, full-editing features….etc…
it will be launched (in Spore at least) this week. SONY organised a pre-sales promotion.
