It sure takes over, as bad as Apple’s quicktime used to.

I switched back to FF as the default in both Set Program Access and Folder Options, but chrome still shows up as default in windows explorer. I uninstalled it and my local server still keeps looking for it, so it wont’ open pages at all. So I had to reinstall Chrome. This really stinks. I like Google but I don’t like Chrome being shoved down my throate as the default.

I think Chrome is a great browser. Great UI but and faster than Safari on Windows. I would definitely recommend it. And I cannot wait for the Mac version.

for now its just another browser
but once updates come out and
they improve on it more

i cant wait to see where
or how far it goes
its all ready a good browser
with a few bugs all they can do know is
improve more and fix it
and have a good browser

Hmmmm . . I.E., Firefox, Safari, and many others. . . what to choose.
Yes I am one of those that d/led and trialed Chrome, and my conclusion is. . . . Damn, I like it.
I usually use Avant Browser because it does everything I need it to do.
But with Chrome, the “Pro’s” are: Clean, superfast, and has plenty of real estate (a fact that no one else has mentioned this, or is it just me?). Can’t see text clearly? just hit cntrl (num) Plus to enlarge text. Too easy.
There are claims at the moment of potential “Dos Attacks” through Chrome, possibly, but is this true or just scare tactics from anti-google fanatics.
Just like everything else thats new, give it time to mature and we’ll have a very possible “Killer App” at our disposal.

I am reading these comments and I can tell the majority of you have not done any research. The security on this browser is incredibly inneficient. Many company’s have banned the use of it (including mine) because of its security flaws. Also, in the coding aspect, the engine is loosely based off of the MAC’s safari browser. I would wait for the 2nd or 3rd update before using this browser, maybe by then you can browse on something a little less risky. Firefox by far is the best.

I really don’t think we need another browser, what i think should be done, is to just get one browser, and make it completely customizable for any OS, and to make it have all kinds of addons, kind of like Firefox. But about Google chrome, I’m not going to judge it on other peoples statements about it, i haven’t used it, and i don’t think i need it, i don’t need a browser like Google chrome for what i do, there may be people that need to use it for everything. But im NOT one of those people, i only need plain old Google to look up parts, and any stuff for school, i really don’t think any of the addons would help me, i just think they would get in the way.

Chrome is definitely FEELS blazing fast, but as far as my everyday browsing habits go, I have to say that Chrome fulfills all the same needs that Firefox does without standing out in any other way. I like the ideas and features that are detailed in the comic, but as a user, I don’t often notice most of them (i.e. individual processes). But I’m sure that’s the point, to a certain extent.

Personally, I’m going to stick with Firefox 3 until Chrome comes out with some Firefox-like add-ons and more customization options.

I think that Google did a great Job with Chrome. Its a good browser even though Its only the First Beta of the Browser. Its a fast Browser ( well it running on Webkit which is what safari is on so that was expected) 3rd after safari and Firefox. Im sure that it will become faster because its so early in it beta stage but so far performance wise have been impressed. There are some problems though. I have notice that some Pages don’t scroll down and up smoothly. I’ve never had that issue with other browsers on those sites. Also sometimes some of the pages just crash but that’s when that Very useful Task Manager comes in handy. Instead of closing the whole browser or the whole browser crashing you now have the ability to close the bad tab. That was a very good part of the browser. I won’t be using it as my main browser. I’ll stick with Safari and Firefox 3 as my main Browsers but Chrome is good so far.

I am really impressed in what Google has done to the whole browser experience. Chrome is one AWESOME browser. And in my opinion, it goes just slightly faster than Safari on Windows (this could change in future builds.) Once Google tweaks up the UI in the settings and fixes some of the current bugs, Chrome could quite possibly be the next big contender in the browser war. I really hope that Google keeps advancing on this project.

I really like Chrome. I feel it has a lot of potential now and even more when plug-ins are developed which everyone was complaining about on the first day. It hasn’t been buggy for me which is nice because I’ve had bugs in IE and FireFox before even when they already were well established browsers. I like the Omni Bar which just keeps everything simple with the buttons I only really use. The one thing I found odd was when I did a search it came up on Live Search. I said that was weird since this is Google Chrome, shouldn’t it default directly to Google. But that was easily changed. I give Google 10 out of 10 for not releasing some piece.
