Do You Know Where to Find the Best iPhone Apps?

Tell me the truth. Do you like your iPhone and/or iPod? If you don’t have either one, do you want them… especially now that you can access the App Store by having the 2.0 operating system? I happened to run across a new web service that I have always hoped for. This site has nailed about 90% of everything I could have asked for. A demonstration of this service can be found on the new Lockergnome iPhone page.
If you go there in your web browser, you’re going to see a set of iPhone applications. These iPhone applications, and sometimes the icon next to them, have been submitted by others just like yourself. They are interested in finding the latest and greatest apps that are available. I’m finding links that I didn’t even notice until I got this up and running. Registration is free, and you can instantly start voting, submitting and browsing anything related to the iPhone. I can tell you right now that just an hour after launch, I had 60 registered users.
Up front, you’ll find the most popular apps that have been submitted and voted on by others. At the time this video was made, Super Monkey Ball is the number one App. You’ll find things like BubbleWrap and Weatherbug, as well. You can also click over to the “recent” tab, and get all of the latest news.
The idea behind doing this is for me to find out what you guys like. Instead of going to the App Store and reading through insipid commentary to try to find out what it is you guys want, I can use this to really get a feel of what’s popular. It’s a good way for us to work together as a community.
The tool that makes all this possible is Slinkset. If you go to their site, you can set up your own something.slinkset.com, and then point your own domain or subdomain towards it. Therefore, this new iPhone site is created there. You can create a slinkset about anything and everything you are interested in. It’s free, and there are no ads running on the site. It’s easy to set up and configure, and took less than five minutes for me to get it started.
I also created a new Apple site. It’s being filled with all things Apple. I plan to also add pages for Windows, software, you name it. The possibilities are endless. This is my chance… and yours. Create your Slinkset site today.
