Do You Have VNC on the iPhone?

If you guys are wondering why on Earth you would ever want to stop by our live show. Well, the reason is VNC for the iPhone. I am browsing the computer that runs my live stream with it right now. Specifically, the app I’m using on my iPhone is called Mocha VNC Lite.

Mocha VNC provides access to a VNC Server. Using your iPhone, you can connect to a Windows PC or Mac OS X and see the files, programs, and resources exactly as you would if you were sitting at your desk, just on a smaller screen.

The features include:

  • Standard VNC protocol with encrypted password signon
  • 8 and 32 bit color modes
  • Server screen resolution up to 1680×1200
  • Local Mouse support
  • Zoom and scroll as the Safari browser
  • Landscape mode
  • Can handle 6 different Host configurations
  • Has been tested with RealVNC, TightVNC, UltrVNC on Windows, and Apple Remote Management, which is included with the Mac OS X.

It doesn’t matter what operating system you use on your computer. As long as you have an iPhone, and a computer running VNC software, you can connect. For a first version, it works really well. I’m certainly looking forward to forthcoming versions.

When you’re away from your desk, but want to still be connected to your computer, Mocha VNC Lite is the way to go.

Some people thought that the new Remote.app for the iPhone was invaluable, but having used VNSea on my Jailbroken phone for so long, it reminds you of how powerful the iphone can be. You can remotly control everything on any of your computers from this handy little touch screen. I doesn’t get much better than that.
Nice review.

What is the best VNC software for the Mac?

I like TouchPad Pro better. http://www.touchpadpro.com/

Thanks. This was a great tip. I’m now using my iphone to control a bank of Windows machines I have out in the garage.

I have a Blackberry. I also have RealVNC installed on my machines. Is it only the IPhone that this software would work on?

My concern, as with any program used on a wireless device is security.
What specific concerns are there with using the Mocha VNC Lite?
Thanks

i used VNC with my linux particion i was apbel eot do bearyl effex on my iphone and it looked cool!

I got this after i saw ur video its great it really is!

Chris, It really is amazing and fun too, for instance my mum was on the laptop while she wasn’t looking i turned on the VNC server then went outside and started messing things up like opening programs and stuff but yeah also its great for when you are away from the computer it is so easy to use as well.

I used to use LogMeIn for remote access.. I LOVE VNC now.. and now that i can use it on my iPhone its even better. It is by far the best app there is i think, becuase i run a live stream of my own and now i can keep tabs on everything if im away. Chris, thanks for turning me on to VNC in the first place. Keep rockin

Thanks so much. I was looking for a good iphone vnc client.

Do you know of any good IRC Client?’
