Virtual dub is a free editor for video.
I use it to compress .avi files made with my digital camera.
It is open source, and there are some plug ins available.
Download from Source Forge.net.
It only works with certain formats though.

my opinion on online video…hmm, i think using visual hub is verry good for compressing videos for youtube on mac, but on windows i think xilisoft video encoder.
personally i think the best videos, are those made without staging, and without editing, i mean natural videos, no effects, no soundtracks, nothing. just the “brute” video. but it has to be filmed nice. and it has to have a good subject. and try not to speak to long and start explaining what is the video about and stuff, it’s booooring. anyway these are my opinions about online videos. sorry for my bad english, i’m from romania
