Do You Believe in Magic?

You know how much I love to give things away. I’ll be doing it again here very soon. Instead of giving away something small, we’re giving away a bundle of hardware and software worth over $6000. We are participating in the HP Magic Giveaway! Our contest is now open!.
This holiday season, HP and Microsoft are asking you to consider giving the magic of HP and Windows. This program is being offered through 50 of the top blogs on the Internet today. Each contest will be designed and implemented by the individual sites. The one thing that remains the same is the amazing prize package being awarded to each of the fifty winners! All winners are encouraged to “pay it forward” by giving the gift of magic themselves. Why keep all of these great items under one roof? I’m sure you all know someone who could really use a notebook, or even the TouchSmart. Why not give them a helping hand if you win?
The prize package includes:
- HP TouchSmart IQ816 PC
- HP HDX 18 series Premium Notebook PC
- HP MediaSmart Connect
- HP Pavilion dv4 series Entertainment Notebook PC (with Windows Live)
- HP Mini 1000 (with XP)
- HP Photosmart C6380 Wireless AIO
- HP 564 Photo Value Pack
- Microsoft Office Home and Student Edition 2007 (Student – Teacher
Edition) 1 copy; 3 licenses
Yes, ONE winner from each site will win this amazing package. I have to thank the people at HP and Microsoft for putting together such an amazing contest. Here are the rules for our contest:
- Be registered on Geeks.
- Submit a how-to, what-is, or top-five article on ANY subject.
- The article must be at least 500 words long, with proper punctuation, grammar, usage, spelling. Remember your PUGS.
- Articles will not be accepted if they require editing, so have someone you trust proofread for you!
- Entries will be posted on my blog.
- Whichever post gets the most comments by December 10th at 10pm CST is the winner.
- Insipid, short, pointless comments will be deleted.
- Get people to comment on your article, but spamming will not be tolerated.
- Your article will be cross-linked with your Geeks account.
- Email the article to me: chris@pirillo.com

the method of choosing a winner. Imagine that one of the entry methods is to create a how-to or What Is article about ANY subject. The winner is the one who gets the most comments. Sounds easy, right? Those are the conditions placed on the contest byChris Pirillo. The method of entry is to send him the article, he posts it, then you notify all your friends and have them notify their friends, etc. and get all that comment love going. But that’s really difficult to do when the contest official won’t post your

Best giveaway EVER! If I won I’d probably give one of the notebooks, the printer, and MS Office to my niece. She could really use a new laptop.

Its quite overwhelming when you think about what HP, Microsoft and so many sites are giving away. HP has exemplified something here, the gift of giving, so why not do the same? If I were to win all this hardware, I definitely could not keep it all. My brother would absolutely love an upgrade from his XP machine to the HP HDX 18 and my other brother would be excited about the HP Mini 1000. Why I would love to win this contest is specifically for the HP Touch Smart and media smart. The all in one printer and laptop I most likely would give away as a Christmas gift to a lucky member at the up coming Church harvest. A lot of folks are in rough economic times (world-wide)right now, giving somebody a laptop might not necessarily make ones life completely better, but its a nice gesture that will make their holidays a very special and memorable one in addition to starting off the New Year with a bang. This collection of devices is screaming, show the good in you, so why not make the ’smart’ choice of sharing the magic too. Thanks!

Yes I do BELIEVE! And thank you doing such a great thing. Yes I would share the wealth. I would give away probably all of this. I know many who are starting a business and need new computers and my children and grand children are going to school and college and need new equipment. what a wonderful give to give. who ever wins, good luck!

I can’t even find my post for the contest now… I know it is there, I saw it yesterday. If I can’t find it, how are others going to find it to comment. I really don’t like the part about “the post with the most comments wins”… oh well, I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

[...] Chris Pirillo ran his contest with a shrewd goal in mind: get people to post slightly thoughtful articles which he put up on his website. I didn’t enter this one because I couldn’t think of something that would stand out. My guess is that hundreds of people submitted all sorts of articles. Guess whose site will rank higher in Google’s eyes? [...]

The magic of Windows?

C’mon Chris, pick up a box of Vista and rub it all over your body…you know you want to.
By ANY you mean some, right?
