Do Or Do Not

Christian carried over a Canon cable after Rendezvousing with Jake on OS X. Man, Apple did THAT one right. Anyway, it occurred to me that as Tim was talking about all that “stuff” on stage (RSS, syndicating content, conferences, blogging, e-books, etc.), Jake and I were actually doing it. I mean, we weren't taking notes (like every other person seems to be doing here) – we were checking stats for Lockergnome, updating our blogs, strategizing via IM, parsing news feeds… living in the middle of the conversation. There's a big difference between talking about it and actually doing it. Who here will take what Tim said to heart? Makes me wonder if anybody here “gets it?” And if they don't, what do I need to do to show them the light – without the fear of blinding 'em?

Uhhh… well, I'd imagine not shining spotlights into their eyes would be of help.

Don't show them your chest either. Not sure which is brighter — your man pecks or a spotlight.

Text messaging is growing fast and has been popular in Europe for years. Connect and/or unify text messaging, RSS, XML, blogs,IMing… Then show them how to make money with it…then show me. ;)

Show me the light chris. I haven't figured out what the big deal with RSS is yet…

first of all, we don't shine spotlights in peoples eyes. we put the hot spot of the light on there body so that they stand out agains the background. But chris, i would be doing the same thing you are right now, i mean, why would i want to take notes about somthing when i already do it, pluss free internet access, the perfect time to download warz, blog, and catch up on the daily news.

Yeah. OSX.2 kicks ass. And about blinding, make them wear sunglasses, all will be fine and dandy then.

Dude, not all of us here at Waterside are trapped in the pen and paper world. Check out my blog for comments on Tim's keynote too. http://www.intuitive.com/blog/

When I was at Internet2 in LA one of the speakers told me that he knew when he “had” the audience when all their faces went dark.
(They closed their laptops and just listened.)

OSX rules, OK?

You got it Chris, you see, your comment on talking vs. living not only applies to Rss/syndicating content/blogging/ebooks but to technology in general, it's what seperates the posers from the true geeks. Everyone can carry around Palm Pilots/notebooks/etc…but how many of them truly utilize the technology and make it work in an efficient and effective manner?

One thing I love with OS X is having a laptop. I'll be hanging out with friends and want to transfer a file. So all we do is just open up our laptops, one creates a wireless network, and we just send the files via iChat rendezvous, or we just share out a drive.
(and don't get me started on how cool IP over firewire is).

mmmmm…ip-over-firewire
