On "customizing" the look of your laptop, they loudly proclaim "200+" designs!I counted. I requested a intel pentium d 960 processor dual core technology, with 1gb ddr2 sdram memory, 256mb graphics card, 250gb hard drive, 3.5 floppy, internal media card reader speakers and subwoofer along with various software including quicken, printer, usb cable and childrens games software . I was quoted a price for everything and promised all of the above however I was given the royal shaft by dell. I received an 805 processor, no internal media card reader nor did I receive various promised software including quicken and children games software or usb cable that I paid for. I have been given alot of excuses and a royal run around from Dell. Not to mention the extended service and warranty that I purchased isn't worth the price of a postage stamp. I have requested help with customer service, sales and technical support over 10 times since I received my computer and no one bothers to call or offer any assistance. Dell makes false promises and claims about their products and what you will receive for the quoted price. They then send you something else in place of what you ordered and make excuses for ripping you off. They use unethical and unscruplous sales tactics to lure you in and then commit bait & switch. Do yourself a favor buy a hp.

a few weeks ago i purchased a dimension E520 from dell. You sound kind of bitter.

Could have been an honest mistake in the email message. You have a problem with Dell? They were able to fix their website, but not the thousands of e-mails that had been sent out. That said, it might not be a lie at all.

It looks like Dell made a mistake that was too late to cover up.
