Dee-Ann Le Blanc
Dee-Ann LeBlanc is an author, editor, course developer, and trainer who specializes in Linux. Her credits include Contributing Editor for LinuxWorld Magazine, writing for Computer Power User magazine, editor of LockerGnome’s Penguin Shell newsletter, a key developer for the official Red Hat online courseware, and – soon – teaching a Linux clustering course at Lawrence Livermore Labs.
With 11 books (and more on the way) and over 100 articles in print, Dee-Ann suspects she’ll continue writing for some years to come.
Dee-Ann has always straddled both the technical and liberal arts worlds. From early on she enjoyed a wide range of subjects except for spelling and handwriting (her spelling has greatly improved, but alas, her handwriting seems doomed). These interests manifested in interesting ways, such as using the BASIC programming language to create her own “choose your next move” text roleplaying game, where the player could typically select between four different actions at any given time. This game was lost once she moved on from the TRS-80 Color Computer Model II, but is not likely to be missed as any kind of world treasure.
