Guys – even the ones that don’t have a rhytm. If you like some specific songs, than you will reaaaly like them on the Dance Factory for PS 2. Why.
This DDR game uses your own CD’s and tries to come up with some fun dance steps. So you never get bored , cause you just pop in another CD that you like. Also, the fun is in playing against other people… Never mind the great exercise…

NEway DDR is one of those things that does take time. However, if you’re like many of my mates who thinks dancing is “gay” just because they’ve never tried it, and hence never enjoyed it, then… well there’s not much to say.

I agree with Rob though – get a PS2 (dirt cheap these days) and DDR_Extreme_8th Mix. That’s the one I have and some of the songs are frakin’ awesome! Afronova, A, Paranoia KCET and MAXX are among my faves…

Chris … give it some time, man! Seriously, DDR takes a little bit of practice, but you’ll have a “Eureka!” moment at some point and realize that it’s all about patterns. You’ve seen me, I’m a big guy and a little clumsy, and I hated DDR at first, but once I devoted some time to practicing, I finally managed to break through, and now I absolutely love it.

One of the other catches is that you need to find a DDR mix with songs that you like. Song selection is EVERYTHING. Personally, the DDR Ultramix was terrible save for a few songs, not to mention it had a fatal flaw in how it handled corner buttons (you can’t turn them off, which results in a lot of missed steps).

If you have a Playstation 2, try either DDR MAX or DDR MAX 2. If not, the Ultramix 2 for Xbox might be OK.

Honestly, I’ve considered getting one myself just because I need something a little more fun to use as a means of losing some weight. However, I’m probably as uncoordinated as you so I didn’t have the guts to actually buy one. I would consider it if all I’d have to pay is shipping though. :)
